Sometimes when I’m on the go, or when I think that I’ll be getting up a little late in the morning and I want to have a coffee ready for me to drink, I try to make sure that I have a packaged coffee or two ready in the fridge or cupboard.
One of the ones that I picked up at the grocery store is My Café Latte’s “Caramel Macchiato.” Now, I’m sure you are thinking, what is a Café Latte Caramel Macchiato??? And that’s an excellent question.
So, it turns out that ‘My Café Latte’ is actually the brand name, and that they have a number of different flavors and brews under their umbrella.
The Caramel Macchiato is made with Ethiopian beans and has a medium roast according to the packaging. The company also describes the taste as one which is ‘Soft Sweet’. The last of these descriptors perfectly sums up this drink.
After opening the drink with the nifty straw that is included, my first sip was indeed soft and sweet. This drink seems to have a great deal of both milk and sugar. This is not to say that it is not delicious, or that the coffee flavor is not evident, but it is, for the most part, overwhelmed by the sweetness.
One good thing about this drink is that the caramel flavor is bright and easy to notice. So, if you are a lover of caramel, then this is definitely a drink for you.
I think, after looking at ‘My Café Latte’s’ website that they make products for people who really don’t like the more bitter flavors of coffee, and need something sweet and soft to help them get their daily caffeine. If you are more interested in a traditional coffee flavor, then perhaps there are other brands here in Korea that might be better suited to your tastes.
